“ This place is so cozy and the staff are just great-personable, good recommendations, fun, and attentive. They clearly seem to enjoy working together, too, which really shows in the sweet banter and adds to the friendly atmosphere that gets strangers in the bar chatting together & laughing over light conversation & good food! Also, you'd be surprised at how delicious that kale salad is-for a bbq place or any place-it's just the perfect addition to the menu! ”

“ What an amazing Friday night dinner with family. We had a moderately large group(8), they had plenty of seating. We were a bit confused about the self order at the counter- then sit- then server takes drink order, mini tray plates. But after that everyhting moved as a regular sit down restaurant. The food was so amazing tender/juicy meats, fresh sides, generoua array of BBQ sauces at table, delicious strong cocktails. Ribs, Brisket(lil dry), Pulled pork, fries, mashed potatoes, sweet potato mash, mac&cheese, broccoli, creamed spinach!! I forgot the drink names. Our server Gabby was so wonderful to us, patient with all questions and requests. Chef/Owner took time to chat with us about the banana bourbon infusion, Awesome guy. Rave reviews from the group, must return!! ”

Like others have stated, the order set up is different but don't let that throw you off. I was honestly shocked at how good it is. Those ribs? Next level. Been meaning to get back there actually - it's definitely one of our go-to spots when we're craving some proper BBQ. ”
“ LOTS OF MEAT. Delicious sides. Old Fields has some solid BBQ, for Long Island. We had the Brisket, which was extremely tender but falling apart a bit - almost like pulled pork consistency which I wasn't expecting for brisket. We also ordered the ribs, which were okay, but not exceptionally memorable in my opinion. We did really enjoy all the sides. The mac and cheese was reliably good, and my picky son who is a self-proclaimed mac and cheese expert approved of it! The cornbread loaf wasn't much to look at but it was moist and delicious with little delicious bites of corn inside. Collards and creamed spinach were both good, though not memorable. Sometimes these dishes are made too salty for my taste, but I found their versions to be just flavorful enough without being overly salty. The vibe is casual and comfortable, in a dimly lit dining atmosphere. The bathrooms were clean when we went, which is also a random plus for me. We went during a non-peak time, but I'd return again if I'm ever in the area and in the mood for BBQ! ”
“ One of my favorite BBQ spots on Long Island! Old Fields Barbecue used to be close to my home but they closed up shop during COVID. My wife works close to this location, I like to choose this spot to meet up for dinner. Ordering is easy peasy! Walk up to the counter, place your order and grab any seat. No frills or table clothes needed, just a roll of paper towels to get into some Que! We pretty much tried the entire menu, the brisket is thicc, the pulled pork has a great flavor and the ribs are meaty. I also love their homemade sausages, I'll usually get one or two links for my wife & I to share. Overall, one of my favorite BBQ spots on Long Island ”
“ This BBQ joint remains high on my list for a great night and a great experience. The food is outstanding...the service friendly! The Brisket is mouth watering and the sauces delicious. The restaurant itself is clean and adds to the whole vibe of the place! I loved everything except.....the pickles. I'm a huge pickle fan and this time around they just tasted a bit too sour. I'll live with it to get more of that chicken in my belly. ”
“ WOW! It was Father's Day and hubby picked this restaurant. I 9 times out of 10 do not like BBQ! But maybe I was eating it all wrong! This place turned me around to the BBQ world! It was crazy good! I can not wait to go back, I want more of the ribs! When you go, do yourself a favor and get at least 2 wonders is the rib! And do not skip on the bacon! Get it! I brought home the Carolina vinegar sauce! I am putting it into everything I cook! The service was friendly, attentive and fast! The restaurant has a simple, comfortable relaxed ambiance, great for a date night, out with friends or a family outing, like we did! ”
